Bob Martin was born on December 8th 1962. Bob Martin is widely recognized as a premier sports photographer. Bob martin won sports photo of the year in 2005. He was born and raised in England. He has photographed the last 15 Olympics.
Bob Martin specializes in action photography. He has photographed many major sporting events, capturing the moment when the water is flying or the snow swirling. This is very good at making you feel the moment and what’s happening. This is incomparable to history because advanced cameras allow him to capture the images in a split second.
Bob Martin was inspired by his middle school photography teacher. He said that the dark room and developing the photos was very interesting. Bob tried to show things with his photos as much as the sports scene allowed. In one picture he showed a parapalegic athlete. The photo was very powerful and won many awards.
Bob has inspired me a lot. It gave me the idea to try to catch moments in action such as a blimp flying or a match dropping. I attempted both of those ideas. I enjoyed the challenge of perfecting these photos. I marvel at his adeptness at being able to capture the moment just at the right time.

My photos were less powerful because my subjects were not famous and the atmosphere of a professional match i couldn't recreate. For the soccer goalie picture I like how the effect of just a singular light source on the subject. The tennis picture I like the shadow and the slightly blurry effect which really makes you look at the picture. I really liked the boxing/chess picture because it shows both sides of people that you normally wouldn’t see. Like a boxer playing chess is out of the norm. And I didnt know Will used to play chess so it was a nice learning experience.
My images show the regular people of the world that try to emulate their idols. It breaks stereotypes. And really challenged my creative photography skills. Overall I think my story is one of positivity and hope. As well as inspiring as it shows you can do things that your idols can do.
